If your horse is already named, you will need to transfer the horse into your name if you are a sole owner, or you and your partner's names. This is done by completing the transfer section in the Document of Description (registration papers) that come with the horse when you purchase it. The cost of transferring a horse is $110.

PLEASE NOTE: This process is only applicable if there is 10 or less owners in the horse. If there is 11 or more owners you will need to set up a syndicate prior to registering or transferring your horse or if your horse is not already named, you will need to complete an Application to Register a Racehorse and lodge it with RVL. You will also need to send your horses Document of Description (registration papers) in with this form. The cost of registering a racehorse is $100.
