The new Owners’ Gold Card will provide owners racing horses in Victoria with many benefits and improved services. From 1 January 2009 these benefits will include:
- A three year card which will be valid though until 31 December 2011
- Standardised admission passes, members’ ticketing and mounting yard passes when your horse is racing.
- Access to an owners’ car park area at metropolitan and country racecourses, subject to availability.
- Complimentary racebook for named owners in the racebook when your horse is racing.
- Designated post-race hospitality areas including refreshments at Victorian racemeetings (excluding Picnic racemeetings) when your horse is racing.
- Winning owners at Victorian racemeetings will continue to be provided with post-race hospitality with the compliments of the club at which they were successful.
- Grandstand seating access at metropolitan racemeetings.
- Scanning technology to recognise the Owners’ Gold Card at Victorian racemeetings (excluding Picnic racemeetings).
- Admission to over 300 Victorian racemeetings each year even when your horse is not racing.
- Complimentary membership to Friends of Champions - Australian Racing Museum and Hall of Fame.
- Dedicated Owners’ Services call centre and website
- Regular owners' e-newsletter
- Standard form contracts and guidelines for owners.
- Special offers from Victorian racing clubs direct to owners.
- Corporate partner offers and discounts.
- The Owners’ Gold Card is valid for three years, from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2011 and will be offered on the basis of the holder being an active thoroughbred racehorse owner in Victoria.
Who is eligible for an Owners’ Gold Card?
All owners who have raced or registered a thoroughbred racehorse in Victoria from 1 August 2008 will be invited to apply for an Owners’ Gold Card.
The Owners' Gold Card will be available for:
- Sole Owners
- Owners in a partnership of between 2 and 10 people
- Syndicate managers
- Syndicate members in a syndicate of up to 20 people
Victorian Thoroughbred Owners’ ID Number
The Owners’ Gold Card will display an individual six digit Victorian Thoroughbred Owners’ ID Number. The introduction of the Victorian Thoroughbred Owners’ ID Number has allowed the industry to provide an optimum level of service to owners and is required for all Victorian Racing Industry transactions.
Delivery of the Owners’ Gold Card
Once ordered Gold Cards will take up to 4 weeks to arrive. Instructions will be included on activating your Gold Card via the owners login page
Dress Regulations
Owners will need to be aware that dress regulations on racecourses may apply, particularly in the members’ enclosure and mounting yard areas.
Replacement Cards
Lost or stolen Owners’ Gold Cards should be reported to Owners’ Services on 1300 139 412 or via email to

Admission to Racecourse and Members’ Enclosure Access
The maximum number of tickets per horse allocated for both complimentary admission and members’ enclosure access is 11. The number of tickets available per horse will depend on the structure of its ownership.
Sole Owners
A sole owner can access a maximum of four admission and four members’ tickets per day – one for themselves, and three guests.
Partnerships of 2-10 owners
Horses owned in a Partnership of Individuals and a Syndicate(s)
- Where a horse is owned by named owners in the racebook and a syndicate(s) it is the responsibility of the syndicate manager(s) to coordinate ticketing entitlements with the managing owner of the horse.
- Managing owner can access a maximum of 2 tickets.
- Any remaining tickets can be distributed through the syndicate(s) by the syndicate manager
In the case of horses with mixed ownership greater than 20 owners, it is the responsibility of the managing owner to coordinate ticketing.
Any guests receiving complimentary racecourse admission must accompany the Owners’ Gold Card holder through the turnstile.

WHEN YOUR HORSE IS NOT ENGAGED AT A VICTORIAN RACEMEETING
Holders of an Owners’ Gold Card will receive racecourse admission to over 300 Victorian racemeetings, even when their horse is not racing. Owners’ Gold Cards will be scanned upon entry to the racecourse. Photo ID must be presented with your Owners’ Gold Card, at these meetings.

Gold Card holders are to pay admittance on the above days ($20), but will have access to the Eliza Park Sunline Suite throughout the mentioned meetings.
