The inaugural Victorian Jockeys Association team, ‘Jocks That Rock,’ have just over $3,000 to go to meet their fundraising target of $10,000 for the 2010 Herald Sun/City Link Run For The Kids this Sunday, 14 March, in support of the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Thanks to the generous donations of many, the team, made up of Brad Rawiller, Linda Meech, Sebastian Murphy, Chris Symons, Casey Bruce, Daniel Schmitt, Jonathon Bowles, Dean Larsson and his 12-year-old son Andrew, are currently sitting on $6,560 in sponsorship.

Rawiller will don the Country Racing Victoria (CRV) jockey colours in the race after CRV doubled their contribution to $2,000 on Wednesday, while Chris Symons will be decked out in the colours of Darley thanks to their $2,000 pledge.

Symons said, “I am even more inspired to run the race this year than I have been in previous years because I am a father now and I am really looking forward to getting out there in my full jockey kit.

“Brad's hoping to run the race in under an hour but I am just hoping I can finish it!

“I really encourage everyone in the racing industry to get behind the team in support of this fantastic cause.”

While the Larssons will run the 5.2 kilometre event, the remainder of the team will slog it out on the 14.6 kilometre course.
