Pentiffic the Season Star

Glamour jumper Pentiffic took home the prized Victoria Racing Club Jumping Achievement of the Year Award at the Annual Mosstrooper Awards in August.

n a dominant season, the Fran Houlahan and Brian Johnston-trained jumper was victorious in the Grand National, Hiskens and Crisp Steeplechases in Victoria, together with the Yalumba Classic Hurdle at Oakbank, SA.

Those victories saw Pentiffic score a comfortable victory in the J.J.Houlahan Jumps Championship which honours the season's top performers. With wins in four of the 15 legs, Pentiffic finished the season on 48 points, 10 clear of Yamanura, with Desert Master next best on 34 points.

The champion jockey across the series was Brad McLean (78 points) who triumphed over Brett Scott (60) and equal third placegetters Trent Wells and Adam Trinder (54).

JJ Houlahan Championship

The J.J. Houlahan Jumps Championship celebrates the champion jumps horse, trainer and jockey who each accumulate the most points from fourteen feature jumps races.

The feature jumps races will be run between April and August at Sandown, Warrnambool and Oakbank in South Australia and each race carries minimum prize money of $100,000.

2010 Jumps Program

RVL has released the 2010 jumps racing program following consultation with the Australian Jumps Racing Association (AJRA) and participating race clubs.

The program will see 64 races held from April to August, with RVL increasing the minimum prize money for over 50 per cent of these races from $12,000 to $15,000.
