Champions on the move!

Champions – Australian Racing Museum & Hall of Fame is currently developing a new gallery within its new home at the National Sports Museum at the MCG. The Museum will commenced this transition to the MCG by closing at Federation Square on Friday 27 November 2009.

The world-class National Sports Museum embodies the Australian Football Hall of Fame, Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, the MCG, the MCC Museum, the Olympic Games and the Sport Australia Hall of Fame along with a host of other sports. It is fantastic that the Australian Racing Museum will become part of this prestigious group of organisations assembled at the nation’s principal sports museum.

Although moving, the Australian Racing Museum will continue to maintain its responsibility of preserving, presenting and promoting Australia’s rich racing history and the acclaimed collection which has been assembled over several decades. The museums external programs, including the popular Tuesdays at Champions talk series, will also continue in a new format in the future.

The team at the Australian Racing Museum is excited about the transition and the opportunity to continue to preserve Australia’s thoroughbred racing history in a new, innovative and impressive space.
